So much has happened over the last couple of months. As usual, I’m gonna try and categorize these events :-
**Hair Cut : Chopped several inches off my hair. Got mixed reactions from friends and loved ones. My favourite comment shall be,
"Jules, you look years younger!" *smiles
i) Work - Work’s been fun. Lots AND lots of work to be done , with li’l gushes of adrenaline rush everytime a deadline has to be met. Then, at the end of a long tiring day, it’s fun to sit back and think of how productive the day turned out to be at work. Gosh, tht sounds like somethin’ a workaholic would say, eh? Trust me, am not. The moment I walk out of those office doors at 5.30pm, my mind automatically shuts off everythin’ to do with work and only ’switches on’ the next morning at 8.30am when I walk into work. Been doin’ several emceeing jobs at these official functions. More often than not, I forget tht I was trained as a Medical Doctor. These days, I seem to be doin’ everythin’ else BUT treating patients! Haha, then again, I was prepared for this, the moment I opted for Public Health!
ii) Family - Loved ones are all fine. Bro bought 2 puppies (2 adorable poodles). Oh that reminds me, I need to start snapping some pics of these new babies so that I can put ‘em up on my blog! They’re very very angelic and adorable. Sometimes, after a busy day at work, the thought of comin’ back to hug these puppies would just form an instant smile. Hugging these puppies, holding ‘em close to you, is a VERY therapeutic feeling.

iii) Funeral : My aunt passed away exactly a week ago. I still can’t believe she isn’t here anymore. It was quite a sudden death, she was admitted into hospital a few days prior. We didn’t think it was a life-threatening condition. I was the organist for the funeral service. It just reminds you that you never know what’s gonna happen the nxt day in life. One day, u’re alive and kickin’, and the nxt day u’d be six feet under. With tht thought in mind, I came up with an idea. I’ve been toying with this idea for months, but never got down to putting it in black and white. At these funerals, there’s always so much of organizing to do. As you might’ve guessed, my mind is VERY idle at this point, and hence, I’ve come up with this rather morbid ghastly entry in my blog.
After much pondering, I’ve come up with "My Ideal Funeral"
OK. Wait. it’s just a hypothesis. Besides, being the control-freak, obsessive perfectionist I am, I’d be rolling in my coffin if I ‘find out’ that the organist for MY funeral played wrong chords! *grins
Elements involved in a FUNERAL (the way I’d like it!)
i) Orbituary column : I’d want MY orbituary to be in ALL major dailies! (NST, The Star, Berita Harian, and ermm. . . Tamil Nesam).
ii) Pic for Orbituary column : i guess one of the pics frm Friendster shld be good enough. These pics are my favourites, anyway.
iii) Church Service : Ideally, the ONLY other person whom I think plays the organ well (apart frm me……hehe) in this whole wide world, would have to be Dr. Peter (a British organist, who played for my wedding!). If he can’t be reached, I want minus one CD’s to be played! Nobody else would play the organ WELL anyway.
iv) Hymns : id’ like majestic, orchestra-filled grand hymns played in church!
v) The coffin : pure white , with fresh red rose petals strewn all over
vi) Flowers in the church : Bouquets of fresh white roses with a single stalk of red roses, all over the church!
vii) Song-sheets : done tastefully with pretty fonts and a nice border
viii) Memorial service : a VERY nice powerpoint presentation with all my nicest pictures frm birth till . . .e rrrrr . . . . de last few days of my life.
Ahh, all done. See, it’s a good thing to try and come up with "MY PERFECT FUNERAL PLANS". ‘Coz ,should the worst happen, at least I can count on ONE of my 198 friends to convey this ‘blog entry’ to my loved ones!
I’m serious.
** and if ‘my funeral’ doesn’t go the way I WANT IT TO BE, i’ll come haunt each and everyone of the 198 folks on my list!
